Bio
I started playing drums at an early age. My
first influences include; Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and ACDC. I was
taking lessons from Scott Douglas, who had completed the music program at
Humber College. He started turning me on to jazz, Steve Gadd, and
basically opened my ears up--Thanks Scott!
After high school, I started studying at Humber College in Toronto, it
was a great experience, a top notch faculty.
Many of the people I play
with today are friends I met there.
I took a cruise ship gig immediately upon graduating--saw some great
places (circumnavigated South America)--cool!!, and put my reading chops
to work.
I've since toured Canada several times, The UK, Sweden, Germany and The
Middle East.
For the past 20 years, I have divided my time between playing live, studio projects
and teaching. Currently I teach private lessons as well as having a teaching position at Branksome Hall. I have the privelege of playing and recording with many talented
musicians from the Toronto scene, including Rik Emmett (Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame Inductee), Dave Dunlop, and
Steve Skingley as a member of the Rik Emmett band. I also have a
standing Thursday night gig with the Sean Cotton Band. I have
recorded and played live with the amazing singer Romney Getty,
her brother Jeff Getty and Russ Boswell on bass. Also Naked
Brunch, Susie McNeil, David Wilcox, Jeff Healy, Jose Feliceano, The Louisiana Snowblowers, The Nomads, .... I could go on...
